Career Appreciation

Since I was a young girl, I knew that one day  I’ll be a fashion designer and have my own company  I spent most of my childhood making clothes for  my Barbie dolls instead of playing with my  friends . I was inspired by glitz and glamour.  I enter the world of modeling and acting.  All thou I had a successful career, it was never enough.  One day my friend asked me to make her daughter a prom dress.  She knew I had some sewing experience from high school.  The next thing I knew, five other women asked me to make prom dresses for their children and the rest is history.
I’m truly bless with the talent that god gave me.  I have the opportunity to express freedom and creativity.  My inspiration comes from life experience and my daughter Nefertiti.  Life is what you make it.  I believe life experiences are series of lessons you must learn to achieve any goal.  My mother always told me, “don’t forget who you are and who help you get there, because you never know when you might need their help again. “ That statement keeps me focus on my goals and on a straight path to financial freedom.
So far, this has been a successful year for me and my company.  On March 15th I will create my 500th prom gown.  My garments will be in two specialty stores   I was invited to do three fashion shows, My 70’s fashion show will be featured on Fashion For Me.  Nefertiti and I will be featured in a fashion magazine in May.   The Lock it up collection will be coming to a store near you.  Wow! What a difference a year makes.

I had some bumps and twists in the road, but it was worth the blood, sweat and tears.  I wouldn’t be able to enjoy this ride without my fellow passengers.  I want to thank, Mark Beckett Sr. of Mark Beckett Concepts and Fashion for me, Tyler Johnson from Urbanroom.com, Tanya the owner HERMION S. BEAUTY BOUTIQUE, V Renee School and Dance LLC and Lil Filmmakers Inc and other business associates, Professor Sophia Epitropoulos at Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I can’t forget about my Dad and my sister Danielle J Mitchell thanks for putting the gas in the car.  Thanks for the ride and the memories.

Love
Jennifer
